Infertility Insurance Coverage

Despite the many advances in treating infertility, if the treatment hasn’t worked then you may need to wait a while until you are physically and mentally ready before you try again. Many factors are involved in the reason for infertility, and you need to see a doctor to have those problems diagnosed. When couples first approach a specialist for infertility treatment, one of the first questions they ask is; who has the problem? In the United States for example, approximately one out of every nine couples is childless because of infertility; it is a major medical and social problem.

If you and your spouse have been unable to conceive for a year, the first thing to do is to visit your family doctor, who will conduct a physical examination of both partners to determine your general state of health and to evaluate any physical disorders that may be causing infertility.

Listening to misleading talks and learning how difficult it is for an older woman to have a child, many women have now developed this mental attitude in their minds that it will hard or difficult for them to conceive. If there is some emotional block in the “couple” that creates the infertility problem in the first place it will often sabotage any attempts to get around it.

Another infertility problem is known as Secondary Infertility and is characterized by the inability for a woman to conceive after a year of unprotected sexual intercourse following the delivery of the first child. For many males, it is the sperm that is causing the infertility problem. There is strong clinical evidence to show that men diagnosed with infertility have high levels of oxidative stress that may impair the quality of their sperm. Researchers recommend that treatment for infertile men should include strategies to reduce oxidative stress and improve sperm quality.

Fertility can also be enhanced by the use of natural vitamins and supplements to improve the overall health of the body and it won’t harm any infertility treatments you are currently undergoing. Infertility treatment costs are notoriously high so compare that to the low amount you will pay for quality health supplements to help enhance your fertility and it makes them all the more appealing. Another treatment that has been known to help is acupuncture by reducing the stress levels that can be associated with infertility.

You may find that you are refused medical treatment costs for infertility by your insurance company so you should try to win this argument on the basis that infertility treatment is a necessary medical procedure. Fortunately, infertility treatment is tax-deductible if you are unsuccessful with your medical insurance company.
