Male Infertility Causes

It is no-one’s fault but fertility treatment does not always work the first time and as a consequence, it may be necesssary to have a break to recover emotionally if you are considering trying again. Unfortunately, there could be any number of reasons for infertility and these require the diagnosis of a doctor. For couples that seek help from an infertility specialist, knowing which of them has the problem is one of the first questions they want answered. With about one in every nine couples in America in a childless relationship owing to infertility, it has become a major topic for discussion.

Normally, most couples will wait for year and if the woman hasn’t been able to conceive after that time an appointment will be made to see the doctor and both partners will have a full medical to try and find the reason for the infertility.

Unfortunately, many older women listen to the wrong advice and often get into a mental mindset where they fully believe they will not conceive because of their age. If there is some emotional block in the “couple” that creates the infertility problem in the first place it will often sabotage any attempts to get around it.

There are a number of women who also suffer from ‘Secondary Infertility’ which happens when a woman has had her first child but fails to become pregnant again even after trying for a year. A common problem for men experiencing infertility has to do with the sperm itself. There is strong clinical evidence to show that men diagnosed with infertility have high levels of oxidative stress that may impair the quality of their sperm. Fortunately, similar research indicates that this situation can be reversed and methods to reduce the oxidative stress will likely improve the chances of conception.

Your chances of improving your fertility can also be enhanced by taking natural vitamins and minerals even if you are having other medical treatment as it won’t cause any damage and a healthy body is a good starting place for fertility improvement. Another aspect to this is the cost, as staying healthy and improving your chances of fertility with vitamins and other supplements compared to that of infertility treatment, and medical procedures, is low in contrast. If your infertility problem is stress related you may want to try acupuncture which helps the release of endorphins and other chemicals that help reduce stress.

You may want to try having your fertility treatment costs covered by your medical insurance company on the basis that it is a medical treatment that is necessary. Still, if you are unlucky with your claim then take heart because infertility treatment is tax-deductible.
