Treating Infertility

Sometimes fertility treatment doesn’t work and you may need time to recover physically and emotionally before thinking about tying again. There could be any number of reasons for the infertility but only your doctor will be able to give you the answer to that question. When couples first approach a specialist for infertility treatment, one of the first questions they ask is; who has the problem? Figures for America show, for instance, that about one in every nine couples have an infertility problem leading to childlessness.

If you and your spouse have been unable to conceive for a year, the first thing to do is to visit your family doctor, who will conduct a physical examination of both partners to determine your general state of health and to evaluate any physical disorders that may be causing infertility.

Unfortunately, many older women listen to the wrong advice and often get into a mental mindset where they fully believe they will not conceive because of their age. This mental state often affects couples when they become certain they will not conceive and it destroys any chances of them conceiving.

If in your pursuit of fertility treatment you are denied medical cover, it is possible to appeal to your insurance company on the grounds that the fertility coverage is a legitimate and necessary medical procedure. If your insurance company just won’t cover it, the good news is that infertility treatment, like most medical procedures is tax-deductible.
